Public Relations firms create much more than publicity, as valuable as that is! In fact, you could call many publicists artful sculptors.
The leading PR firms create and sculpt media messaging that perfectly defines and aligns with outcomes and benefits their respective clients seek. And the most productive publicists do it artfully in ways that best fulfill their missions to garner attention that achieves their client’s objectives and strategies.
Sculpturing words and entire PR programs in ways to make them more engaging is what has made so many publicists and their respective PR firms so successful. One them is TransMedia Group, which I launched 45 years ago in Manhattan after I left NBC and which has remained an effective and respected PR firm ever since!
At PR firms like TransMedia Group, you won’t find just outstanding professional publicists, but PR Sculptors! You could say they’re artists with words! Creators of concepts. Deliverers of artful communications.
Speaking of words, I happen to be an author of six books and countless blogs and published articles.
Like many in PR, I’m also the creator of products, such as my Knife ‘n Forklift™ designed to help people with gushing appetites to consume less by eating slower using my weighted utensils.
While publicists must be forever wedded to telling the truth, their messaging must travel along verbal roads poignantly paved, compelling and impactful, never daunting or dull.
In the PR World, news releases must be designed not just to make news, but lasting impressions and ultimately motivate consumers to buy products.
They’re not just written and disseminated but artfully designed and thoughtfully targeted to fasten relevant facts to the right media minds, arousing much broader and deeper coverage for their PR firm’s clients, which in our case have included some of America’s greatest companies!
Art is plentiful in PR and in my world, it flourished
In mine was my talented dad, William J. Madden, a celebrated concert violinist along with my older brother, Don Madden, a prolific cartoonist whose full-page artful drawings appeared in every issue of Playboy Magazine for 50 years. That’s right, a nifty fifty! Now I’m sure both are performing well in heaven.
No, there is no stopping talent especially in public relations when it comes to performing, creating or sculpting the most powerful words behind some of the most successful PR campaigns in America, just as I did for current and former PR clients from AT&T to Kellogg’s Tony the Tiger.
Today, my illustrious daughter Adrienne Mazzone, is president of our award-winning PR firm, ever cranking out perfectly crafted, super-engaging, and you could say well sculpted PR. Sculpturally yours, TM
